“Six of our Year 3 pupils completed the ‘The Way You Learn Ltd’ Literacy Scrapbook during the Summer Term 2023. All six children enjoyed their literacy sessions and talked about their finished books with pride. They all felt that the sessions had helped them with their reading and writing and they unanimously reported feeling more positive about English lessons since completing the book.
Some of them even expressed a desire for the there to be more sessions! As a SENCo, having discussed their work with these pupils, I was impressed by the children’s enthusiasm and also by their retention of the key vocabulary and information. They were able to talk about the books and their key vocabulary with confidence and read out loud from their work books fluently. I would definitely recommend the use of these books for children who would benefit from over-learning key information and vocabulary.” Tracey Bannister Senco Lead at HHJS I write to thank you for the excellent "The Way You Learn" sessions that you recently delivered at Hampton Hill Junior School. The input you provided to our families, through the delivery of these sessions and the linked resources and offers of ongoing support was hugely impressive. This link between school and wider parental support and partnerships is a key element to support the progress that children can make both at home and in school.
The feedback I received from parents and children who attended was extremely appreciative and positive. I feel we were very fortunate to be able to offer this input to our families. I know that those who attended feel similarly fortunate. I attach the following feedback received from parents who attended the sessions: "I attended the way you learn workshop with my son who is in year 3 on Monday which was enjoyable for us both." "The books Emese has made up are fantastic and such a fun activity for parent and child to do together. They are very much child led activities, which gave my son a sense of ownership on his work he completed on the day." "The idea of having workbooks for supporting learning but without the school structure, and freedom to write about what they are fascinated in is so great." "My child is autistic and any type of home schooling is a massive challenge as he needs to keep home and school separate to manage his anxiety but the fact he sat with me in the workshop and enjoyed himself was wonderful to witness." "I will want to purchase a copy of the Holiday Scrapbook on Amazon so he can keep all his collectibles in the book and I can encourage his writing skills in the break; it's a win win!" |
